Lumara is one of the three moons of Val'thoron, it is also the closest, and so has the most physical impact on Val'thoron. Some say that the three moons was one big one. And that it split apart long ago. While others say that each one was a separate heavenly body and that Val'thoron intercepted them and forced them to orbit the planet. And then others said that it was a sister planet and it broke apart and was doomed. But it shielded Val'thoron from suffering the same faith. But what ever the story Val'thoron has three moons. And each one is different in their own way. But this is about Lumara or the silver hue moon, or the quicksilver moon. It goes by a lot of different names, it just depends on the culture or area. The Shalo call it the flying moon since it is the most reflective and brightest object out at night.
But Lumara is also the moon that makes the tides on the planet possible. Even the other two moons combined could not equal the pull of Lumara on the oceans and seas. The typical orbit last about 18 hours. And it takes about 25 to 28 days to go through the 4 phases from new moon to last quarter. Lumara is about 3/4th the size of Earths moon. And has a lot of the same characteristics as the moon. Lumara has a circumference of about 2878 miles. It's orbit is about 55,000 miles from the surface of Val'thoron. It is in the middle, size wise to the two other moons. It is bigger than Rougevet, but is smaller than Brevk. But it doesn't mean that Lumara is not as important as the other two moons either. It just that for religious or magic reasons. The other two moons have more of a pull for these reasons. Brevk or the Purple moon has more of a magic meaning. And then Rougevet has more of a mythical, religious pull.
Now with the coming crisis what is in store for the silver moon. Will a culture turn it into an icon like the other two moons have. Or will it just keep going the same as it always has. Without so much as a thought to it's exsistance or importance. But for now the silver moon is doing what it always does. And that is quietly drifting across the night sky. And making the tides rise and fall all across Val'thoron.
OOC: I used imperial units for measurments feet, miles but I could also change it to metric meter, Kilometers?
