So it looks like this is the final outline:
~ Description ~
Curyants are small pebbles or stones infused with magic, and are used are bartering tokens for trade, buying & selling items, slave purchase & transport, to send messages, for the hiring of guards & protectors, the purchase of land or magic requests, and, of course, for bribes. This list covers most of the main uses for Curyants as money, but there are many more. The only limit is the imagination. Curyants can be eaten to improve & strengthen magic, and also increases energy and endurance. A DiCuyr is a small stone or pebble that can be used as a Curyant, but is not yet charged with magic. DiCuyrs are usually used to pay servant wages, and one Red Curyant is roughly equal to ten DiCuyr. In the list below, any Curyant is worth roughly four times as much as the one below it. For instance, one Blue Curyant is equal to 4 Green, or 16 Yellow, or 64 Orange. White is equal to 10 Violet, and one Black is equal to 50 White Curyants.
One Black Curyant -- 12 hours
...... White Curyant -- 10 hours
...... Violet Curyant -- 8 hours
..... Indigo Curyant -- 7 hours
........ Blue Curyant -- 6 hours
..... Green Curyant -- 5 hours
..... Yellow Curyant -- 4 hours
.... Orange Curyant -- 3 hours
......... Red Curyant -- 2 hours
~ Pricing ~
One DiCuyr will take a message across a territory in two days, and three DiCuyr will take it anywhere in the kingdom in just less than five days. To cut the delivery time in half, the amount is doubled. For overnight delivery the cost is raised to eight DiCuyr for a territory, and one Red Curyant for cross-kingdom.
Pegasi, even unbroken and with no pedigree to speak of, can sell for one Orange to one Yellow Curyant. Well-mannered or bloodied pegasi will usually average a Green to a Blue Curyant. Trained pegasi average an Indigo, and if they are bloodied they can reach two or three Violet. Those that are trusted enough to fly usually aren't sold, but those that are can reach a White, and rarely, 2.
It costs about one eight DiCuyr to one Red Curyant & to hire a guard for a week. (Generally prices are slightly cheaper for long-term work, because that guarantees employment.) It costs about one Green for a protector for a month, and they tend to charge very steep fees for short-term protection. To ship pegasi from one point to another it costs (depending upon the quality and speed of shipment) about five DiCuyr to one Red Curyant a day. It takes roughly two days to cross a territory, and five to cross the Kingdom.
~Effects of Eating a Curyant~
When a Curyant is eaten it will temporarily strengthen the magic, energy, and endurance of the one who ate it. The effects will last for a set duration of time, according to its color. If two are taken at the same time the magic is more powerful but less controllable, the mind starts to cloud, and the energy turns jittery. If 5 at a time are eaten, they start to break down the body, and ten can kill.
They can be taken for three days straight, the next eaten after the first wears off. This can temporarily eliminate the need for sleep, and has no side effects except for tiredness for the next several days. They can be taken during the day, with no night use, for five days. Longer use will result in delusions, hypersensitivity, paranoia, and loss of impulse control. These systems increase in strength the longer the Curyants are taken. Accompanying these side effects, a mood of hyper surveillance, quick but inaccurate thinking, and the feeling of being on a constant 'high' of good feelings and confidence is present. They are addictive, and most equines stay away from them except in extreme need.
~Transport & Storage~
Once infused with magic to become Curyants, each small pebble has a soft glow of color to it. When touched to a leg, horn, branch, or even a mane, several thin tendrils of magic slide out to wrap around the object, or to tangle themselves in the mane. To store surplus Curyants, the poorer unicorns will bury them in 'caches,' sometimes hiring a special and recommended guard called a 'Banker' to keep the cache safe.
"Drops" are like banks, where they keep the Curyants safe, and unicorns can withdraw them at any of the various branches across the Kingdom. There are two kinds of accounts: Gold and Silver. Silver is for those who don't have at least an Indigo Curyant, and doesn't have as many protections or bonuses. Gold account holders specify their own terms, but all accounts have to have clearance from the central branch before more than one-fourth of the total Curyants can be withdrawn.
So is this good? I know it's long - cringe - I'll try to shorten it.
