They say that there was once a stallion that held magic in his hooves. He was legendary, some might call him a god. They say that he was cunning, and had a power that none could attest. He did however, pay the price for his fame. He was cursed; cursed by the powers that fate gave him. He would walk three nights as a stallion, then four nights he would fly as a raven. Thus his week would begin and end. This is The Legend Of Lanthros.
One day while walking his famous route across the Morikoc Peninsula, Lanthros came across a unicorn mare. Immediately he fell in love with her. The way that she moved and spoke, the way that her silvery coat shimmered at night.
So Lanthros began to court her, and soon she fell in love with him in return. many seasons passed and Lanthros soon discovered that his love was with foal. That was when it happened.
Another stallion found Lanthros's mate when she was sleeping, and he tried to win her heart. When Lanthros found out, he strode over to this invader and his power exploded. His anger boiled over and all of his magic poured out onto this stallion. within the next minute, he was dead.
Lanthros turned to share the victory with his mate, but when he saw her, his heart shattered. His magic had taken her life as well. she was now nothing more than dust.
Weeping, Lanthros gathered what was left of his mate and flew off as a raven. he flew higher and higher until he was lost in the inky darkness of the sky. Then, he took her ashes and with tears streaming down his face, he released her into the night.
They say that his tears mixed with her ashes and his magic made them glow. And they continue to multiply as time wears on, for some believe that Lanthros still flies over those star spangled skies. And where ever he flies, more grow.
