Magic can be spelled with a k, as in Magick, or without (magic). Magicked, magicks, and magickal are also acceptable, as is the usual spelling for magics and magical. Spell-check will mark these with 'k' wrong, but since it is an older spelling of magic, it is accepted here.
Class is the type of magick the character has. The magical Class is always capitalized to indicate the importance and to avoid confusion for readers.
Magick Class Information
Grade is the power of magick the character has. A is the strongest, F the weakest possible. Magic Grade Information
Level is the amount of training and control a character has over their magick. There are five levels, with everyone starting at level 1. After specialized training by another of the same class, level 5 can be reached. Magic Level Information
Sub-class is a category of Class, for example, a sub-class of Body is Transformation, a sub-class of Fire is heat, and a sub-class of Air is wind currents. Even if an equine can control the full range of their Class, they will have a sub-class; it is the part of their magick that they are best at. These are listed in the Sub-Class thread (post new suggestions here), and are listed as well with the description of the Classes (wait for loading).
Specialty is the specific thing in a Class of magick that a character is best at. Specialties are linked to a certain sub-class. Every equine has a specialty, but many don't know what theirs is until late in their training. (3rd level)
For example, one character's specialty (w/ Class: Body and Sub-class: Transformation) is a Raven. This means that they are best able to turn into a raven. A second example is Class: Emotions, Sub-class: Enchanter, Specialty: Belief. (a contrasting example would be Class: Emotions, Sub-class: Enchanter, Specialty: Love) Specialties are listed with their accompanying Sub-Class.
Magic Access is how a character controls his/her magick. There are four basic ways to access magic. They are by runes, rhymes, incantations, or dance. For runes, unicorns draw them in the air with their horns while pegasi imagine them in the air, emphasizing them with very slight motions through their wings and body. Both unicorns and pegasi use slight swaying (barely noticeable) to give power to the runes and to give them strength. Incantations are the traditional mysterious wordage, and a dictionary can be found here: Incantation Link Feel free to create words, and make up spellings! Just remember to post it to the thread!!
Dance is the acting of magick through actions, (like if you have ever seen the cartoon series Avatar: The Last Airbender) just make up steps and movements! If you want to create a thread to describe the movements and share them in one place, go ahead!
Rhyming has it's own rules, just like everything else. As long as it rhymes, it works. Only other rule: once a rhyme has been used once, it can never work again! Ex. "Wide and vast waters soul, take the shape of a bowl." That rhyme will never work for another once it has been used. (I'm putting a void on it so you have to make up your own!) Make sure your rhyme only affects the range of your character's magick! Here's a thread to list all used rhymes: Past Rhymes
Example of Complete Magic Information
Magic Access: Dance
Air: Level 3: Grade C
---Subclass: Motion
---Specialty: Levitation
--Allied: Fire: Level 1
----Subclass: Solid Flame
----Specialty: Fire Walls
Magic Possession
Each of the six magick grades (A, B, C, D, E, & F) occur equally in the populations of unicorns and pegasi, and magic seems to appear in each generation randomly. 70% of the population have no magick, and the last 30% are evenly divided among the classes.
The totals, according to the whole population of unicorns and pegasi, are as follows:
Without Magic..........70.0%
Classes.....................30% (5% of each Class)
