The sun was starting its slow decline off under the western horizon. And the Blood Bay, Pegasus had been flying around for hours. And down below just the ever present grey and white veil of fog. That had been over the landscape for hours and so Aquilon couldn't get a bearing. Because there was no known landmarks to tell her where she was at. Plus she was starting to tire and become exhausted. And being in that condition was not good. Because all it would take would be a small pack of wolves and Aquilon. would be very easy prey. But what was this up ahead a patch of green and brown. It totally clashed with the ever drab grey surrounding it. There was a few higher shrubs and trees in it. But they was well spread out, and not clump together like a forest. She hated forest for two reasons. One it interfered with her wings if she spread them out underneath the canopy of trees. And second she couldn't move around and lost a lot of her freedom of movement. So she then dived down until she was about fifteen feet above the fog. And when she finally cleared the ground hugging clouds. Flared up and then made a four point landing. And with that she folded her magnificent black feathered wings across her back.
But something was wrong and it was that Aquilon had no idea where she was. Nothing was familiar to the mare even the scent was strange here. So she snorted loudly and stamp her left front hoof. If only she knew where she was maybe then she could plan on how to return to her family. But with light now becoming a precious commodity. She now needed to find shelter for tonight. Because she had no idea what nasty critters scurry in the night here. And she had no intentions of finding out either. But she just could not shake the feeling of being watched with intent and hungry eyes. But who's eyes was the major question. Was they of a predator or of even another equine. But she finally found what she was looking for. A low growing Maple tree, and branches with now red colored leaves. So she finally went under it and layed down. And before she knew it, she was now starting to doze off. But every once and a while she would jolt herself awake. And do a quick glance around herself making sure there was nothing about ready to take the Pegasus mare by surprise. She still had a bad feeling that something was around here and close by. But she couldn't see or smell it, the only thing that she did smell was the sweet smell from the nearby Maple.

If I had a heart, it would go out to all of you, reading this right now. Hey, be grateful for the attention. In a few short moments, I will be ignoring you, and getting on with my life. Don't you feel special? I've wasted a whole five sentences on you! Well, you're not supposed to feel special. This is your warning. What you are about to read is completely true. I'm not making any of it up. If there are holes, things you dont understand, I want it that way. After all, it's my mind, and some things are meant to be kept private, even from you. My name is Venka Vespera, and this is my story.
Wind whistled through the long black tresses of my mane, effectively knotting the delicate strands. It was a trademark of my family line. I could trace back my heritage almost thirteen generations, and I must have been the five hundredth line-back dun. Almost everyone from my sire's line shared my coloring. He was dun, his sire was dun, his great grand sire was dun, and somewhere along the line there was a gray. He ended up being sacrificed to the Jyvn. We all had long manes and tails as well, but they were razor thin, and knotted easily. I had long ago given up on mine, and it hung now in dread locks. Some of it had miraculously been spared, but it was a nuisance. Dreads didn't get pushed into my face with a light breeze. The loose hairs did.
My sire and dam tried to convince me to let them try and tame it, but I refused. I didn't care what others thought of me. I didn't care that I could trace my family lines back seventeen generations...or was it twelve? I refused to believe that my heritage had gotten me where I was today. If anything, I was here in spite of my bloodlines. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of where I come from, but it's hard to be a cheerleader for your sire's line when your the only one out of four to survive past the age of three years.
Fog washed over my back, and the wind seemed to abate slightly, an eerie clam settling in the patch of green earth. I squinted through the fog, hating that I couldn't light my horn, as I had seen others do. It would have been handy. The fog fanned out slightly before me, and I hesitated, spotting the red form of an equine. her scent mingled with the wet fog, but around the female perfume, I caught an unmistakable whiff of pegasi. A slave wouldn't be this far out, not without a master.
My gaze swept over the surrounding area, and a grin settled on my lips. This was a wild one.
The mare snorted, stomping her left fore hoof on the green turf. I watched her move off, and followed at a safe distance, watching as she finally chose a spot beside a young maple tree. She lay down beside it, and for several moments, I allowed her to doze, a cruel grin unraveling on my lips. Occasionally I would move, jerking her from sleep to glance around for my person, hidden effectively somewhere just out of her line of sight. She knew that I watched, but did not have the brains to run. Stupid, stupid creature. Didn't she know where she had landed?
Her mistake was my fortune. My shoulders shifted, and the muscles in my hindquarters tightened. In a heartbeat, I lunged, cornering the mare between myself and the maple tree. Her self decided prison. My horn poised over her throat, I waited, a half smirk on my dark lips, gazing at her hungrily through dark orbs. I waited for her eyes to open. I waited for a scream.

Aquilon was between conscience and sub-conscience between being awake or in sleep. A few more moments and she was there. Full wrapped in the arms of sleep, she let her maw and dial cradle between her front folded up knees. And her wingtips relaxed and drapped down along her flanks. Aquilon should of been more alert for the trouble on the horizion. Something big and bad, was about ready to come down on the young mare. But right now the desire to rest override all her other instincts. So she was just about ready to totally fall in deep sleep. When a new scent assailed her lightly flaring nares. It was a stallion but yet it wasn't from another pegasi. It was from another horse though. So slightly confused she raised her dial up so as to catch more of the strangers scent. That is when she felt a pointed and hard object right at her throat. This strange thing didn't feel like a branch. But more like a rock what was this and where did it come from. That is when she noticed the strangers scent was right on top of her. So she jerked to fully awake and right beside her was the dun colored unicorn. She never was this close to one plus her parents always warned her to keep her distance from them also.
So all the pegasus mare could do was let out a scared squeal. And start to stammer around for some words. And when she did snapped at the intruder. For invading her personal space and rudly awaking her from her sleep.
" A...A....A....A who are you! And what are you doing here! I do not know you so explain yourself."
She never did like others surprising her when she wasn't expecting it. Her sister got two rear hooves into her barrel. When the older mare went and jumped off of some rocks. And went boo to Aquilon when she landed in front of Aquilon. But right now she was to exhausted to fly from this unicorn. Plus she couldn't run off because she didn't know the area. But she did have one chance though. And that is if she shot out her one wing, maybe she could clip this stallions front legs. And either make him fall, or to lower his horn away from her throat. By looking at where the blow came from. But right now this unicorn held all the cards in his favor. Plus what did he want with her. Was the next question running through Aquilons mind. But for now she needed space from this other equine. So that she could at least get to her feet quickly. Because now all this stallion had to do was trample her. And either kill or severly hurt her, but she was bound to not let that happen here.

The first thing that Ven noticed, standing over the pegasi mare, was the slow intake of her breath. Lost in the realm of sleep, he watched her shift in vacant discomfort, noticing his cold presence even there. Thats right, he thought. Squirm. You know that pressure by your throat. You know that it could hold your death. Sleep a little longer, I can wait.
He watched the twitch of her nostrils as they took in his alien scent. His eyes traveled slowly to the fold of her wings, and rested there. It would have been too easy to disarm her then and there, too easy to rip out her feathers and prevent her escape. Ven was not a fan of taking the easy way out. He would wait, just a few more moments until her fear released her from the dregs of sleep. He would wait for the soundless flutter of her eyelids, and the wide, surprised orbs beneath, just waiting to take in his image. Dun coat, black tresses tangled in dreds. Would she know immediately that she should run? Or would she hover, fear claiming use of her limbs?
His eyes traveled back to her's just as they opened. Her eyes widened in fear and recognition. He knew that she was seeing the smirk he was never careful enough to hide. It was the only indication of his eagerness for what would come next.
The mare let out a frightened squeal that sang like a melody in his ears. HIs horn pressed a bit tighter to her throat and his eyes narrowed. Her stammered words fell around him, and the smirk fell into a frown. "Your not in a position to be asking questions, mare," he drawled. "However, Im in a rather obliging mood this evening. I am called Venka Vespera. I am a slave trader."
It would have been foolish to wait much longer. He knew that he had to disarm her now, before she had time to form a plan of escape. In a flash of movement, he turned, resting both knees on her barrel. With a practiced twist of his neck, he seized her wing, pulling it forward with his mouth. His right knee shifted, holding it down. He did not hesitate for the next action, and gripped her flight feathers between his teeth. With a feral growl, he pulled back, feeling the tear of her feathers from flesh. He had no time to wait, no time to register if the sounds he heard aroud them were her screams or the loud gusts of wind.
He leapt over her, shoving her other side away from the tree. She fought now, but her energy was spent, not enough of it yet regained to stop his teeth from inflicting the same damage on this wing as well. His heart raced, and he spat the feathers from his mouth, staring down at his victim with a triumphant smile.
It didnt matter what she did now, it didnt matter what names she called him, or what obsenities she let loose. "Your mine now," he told her, straitening in his stance. He kicked at her shoulder and ordered her to stand. This was the manner in which Ven had aquired all of his slaves. None of his targets had ever escaped. You see, Venka Vespera never lost.

But the Unicorn beat her to the punch and had her one wing. Held down with his right knee. She didn't even have time to twitch, or shake his bite off of it. And he then proceeded to rip her flight feathers out. Each one was almost pure agony to have pulled from her wing. She somehow didn't have time for the pain to register at first. But the Blood Bay mare had no idea what was truly was going on around her. She didn't know if this unicorn stallion wanted to kill, or just maim her. And for what reason was totally unknown to the pegasi mare. But his words did start to register in Aquilons mind. And that was he seemed to be of the over controlling type. And that he either didn't like pegasi much. Or maybe even other horses and unicorns. But he said that Aquilon was in no position to be asking questions. And that he was in a obliging mood. And that he was Venka and that he was a slave trader.
After hearing this Aquilon just stood still and didn't even move. These words caused her mind to work into overdrive. She had heard horror stories about slave traders and what they did to pegasus that they came across. But she now knew that Ven wasn't out to kill her but to take her captive. And what a prize she would be, because she was just so young. And was able to be trained more easily over an older pegasi. Then he took a hold of her right wing since the left was already done. But this time she tried to jerk it away from his ivories. But it failed and she screamed out in pain from her trying to jerk away from him. And having her flight feathers removed forcefully. This caused the 16 hand high mare to squeal and try to get to her feet. But with Ven putting pressure on her barrel. All she could do was get her hindquarters up off the ground. And so she layed back down. But she stop trying to get her wingtip free from the dun unicorn. Because if she broke a wing bone, then her flying days was as good as over. Even if she got her flight feathers back. So she just layed there and was under the gaze of Venka. Aquilon just wanted to reach up and tear that smile off his face. But the words he spoke next caused Aquilon to react hostile towards him. He triumphantly proclaimed that he owned Aquilon now. All she said was " **** you" That is when he kicked at her right shoulder. And the hit stung when it hit her shoulder. And he then told her to stand. So she wearily lifted herself up, but she couldn't fold her right wing. And so it hung down useless, she must of strained a muscle when she tried to prevent Ven from ripping her flight feathers. But she then walked off until she was a good fifteen feet from the dun unicorn. Aquilon turned and faced Ven and if looks could kill. Then Venka would of been dead ten times over now. All Aquilon said very pointily to Ven.
"So what's next because I now can not get away. And if you think I'll just stand by and let you do anything to me. You got another thing coming PRICK!"
Aquilon was now held here, but it didn't mean that she was just going to lay down, and take it either. So she just stood glaring at Ven wanting him dead. And now she started to wonder what was going to happen next.

The dun stallion backed away, allowing the pegasi mare room to get to her hooves. His eyes burned with a familiar sensation of triumph, and his chest felt heavy with something that seemed to be half conceited satisfaction, and half haughty amusement as he watched her struggle.
Most he dealt with were wet, shivering cowards, too frightened of him to pose a fight, or even a challenge. They bored him to be completely honest, but they were still slaves, useful, sound, not as high quality as the lines founded in Sunthara, but still worth his time. These wild pegasi he captured would eventually be incorporated into the slave breeding program to prevent inbreeding and the problems along with it. Some of them might be boring, but they were nessecary. He smirked, after-all, without hours spent hunting free pegasi, he would be out of a job.
Yes, most wilds were boring, easy to catch, with virtually no tongue, but every once in a while, Ven had the great fortune of finding a mare such as Aquilon, one that recognized her rights as a free creature and refused to bak down to such a simple threat as the one that he posed. Ven loved a good challenge. He liked the ones that fought for what rightfully theirs, but his to take away as he saw fit. He was addicted to this sort of power. The ones that fought the hardest, fell the hardest.
**** me huh? He thought, laughing aloud. "I see that your not going to make this easy for me, are you, mare?"
She stood and walked away, pausing at around a distance of fifteen feet. The glare on her face was a priceless treasure, he thought, the perfect blend of burning hatred, anger, fear and pain.
"So what's next because I now can not get away. And if you think I'll just stand by and let you do anything to me. You got another thing coming PRICK!"
Ven laughed again, but this time the sound was humorless and dry, laced with a note of frosty disdain. He was a stallion of blunt speech, and told things as they were. There was no use in lying to this mare, the sooner she accepted her fate, the better. He closed the distance between them with a long and purposeful stride. His eyes met her's without fear or evasion. "First you will be branded, serving as your identification, and who owns you. Then you will be trained how to serve your next master. Obey, and this will be very easy. Choose to fight me, and it will be hard. The choice is yours, mare." He smirked skeptically, "I know what you thought I wanted you for, but I dont believe in mixing species. Besides, Im spoken for."
Ven nipped savagely at her shoulder, hoping to draw blood, and spun around with both hind legs, aiming at her barrel. "unless you want more from where that came from mare, I suggest that you invest in a filter for your disrespectful tongue. There will be no tolorance for it in Sunthara."

This was all but a nightmare for the Blood Bay mare. How did she get so far off course. And ended up in Sunthara, Aquilon's home was farther up North. She and the small herd of about 20 other pegasi, lived in the Helargar Mountains. It was really nice, because just with a short flight you was at the beach and sea. But now those days was over, unless Aquilon could find a way to escape. And now Venka started to threaten her again. What was with this guy and trying to act like he was superior in every way to Aquilon. He said that he could see that Aquilon was not going to make this easy. All she done on this was just point her maw up into the air in disdain for the smaller unicorn. How dare he even touch her let alone vandalize her magnificent black wings. She still could not fold her right one up and over her back. She viewed this unicorn with total contempt. He was just some slug that crawled out from under his rock. And just happen to meet Aquilon at her most vulnerable time. But she was slightly caught off guard when he strolled up to her. She dropped her dial back down. And then both equines locked orbs with each other.
And what Ven had to say sent Aquilon into a frenzy. She really now hated this other unicorn. He told her that she was going to be branded and that she would be trained to serve her next master. This caused Aquilon to just lash out at Venka's face with her ivories. If she hit or not she didn't know. Because she then told the arrogant prick what she thought of this.
" If you think that I'll let you even touch my pelt, you got another thing coming. I'll fight you until I am either exhausted or dead over this. And then you think I'll just go and be bought like a pet. Boy your living in a surreal world, I'll never bow down and roll over for you or anyone else here."
But he then told Aquilon that he had no plans on either breeding her. Or even wanting her for himself, plus he added that he already was spoken for. And already had a mate this just made Aquilon to add her thoughts on this.
' I bet she is just as charming as you are, a real rattlesnake there. And I would never allow myself, to even be touched by the likes of you. Let alone be underneath you in total submission."
She then let out a huff over this Ven was working Aquilon up into a complete uncontrollable rage. But it was short lived, because he bounded over to her and nipped at her left shoulder. This caused a squeal to emit from the Blood Bay mare. And she instinctively tried to bat his dial away from her with her own. But he then turned around and kicked with both of his rear legs. His left went between her front legs. But his right was a dead on hit into her chest. This blow caused Aquilon to lose her breath. And she immediately went down onto her front knees. She just tucked her dial in between them. And she then quietly started to cry to herself. And that is when she realized that there is a time to fight and a time to pack it up. But she also knew that there would be other times that she would have, to try and escape. But one thing was for sure. Aquilon was not going to go down easy when they brand her. All of these unicorns would remember her and how she fought to prevent her being marked. But she now just was ready for what ever else Venka had to offer.

This mare just didn't know when to quit, did she? Ven had a healthy respect for a bit of lip, and the challenges it posed, but honestly, enough was enough.
" If you think that I'll let you even touch my pelt, you got another thing coming. I'll fight you until I am either exhausted or dead over this. And then you think I'll just go and be bought like a pet. Boy your living in a surreal world, I'll never bow down and roll over for you or anyone else here."
Ven couldn't hold back the chuckles of skeptical laughter. His grin told her in a clearer fashion than his words, exactly what he was thinking. "Mare, you don't get it, do you? You are powerless here. You can fight as much as you want, you can flail and flop and whine, but you'll still be branded, still be sold, and eventually you'll find your memories of freedom slipping away from you, until you can only wonder if it all was just a wonderful dream. When I'm done with you, you'll sit, stay, bow down and roll over on my say so."
Ven watched the anger grow in the mare's eyes, inwardly chuckling at her foolish behavior. He watched her knees fold beneath her, and eyed the gentle swell and ebb of her flank as she drew in breath after breath. Eventually she would learn, eventually, she would break.
' I bet she is just as charming as you are, a real rattlesnake there. And I would never allow myself, to even be touched by the likes of you. Let alone be underneath you in total submission."
This time, Ven didn't laugh, he spun, pummeling her ribs repeatedly with his forelegs. He Hoped that her ribs would bruise, that she would take to heart this last beating. He hoped that she would whimper and whine, perhaps limp back to camp with her head nearly dragging in the sand...
He snorted, throwing his weight off of the smaller mare, an angry glint in his onyx eyes. "Say whatever you like about me mare, but leave my betrothed out of this. Your not fit to wipe the mud off of her hooves. I promise you, one more word, and I will beat you to within an inch of death."

Aquilons main defense was distance, but that was taken from her from the get go. When her flight feathers was removed a few minutes ago. She just kept shaking her dial no at everything Venka was telling her. About how she would be still branded and would do everything he would tell her to do without question. Then she finally seen the true monster that was this dun unicorn Venka Vespera. And that is when Aquilon made the mistake of telling him that Jyla was a rattlesnake. He immediately turned and then started to drive his knees and forelegs into Aquilons ribs. All she done was whinny loudly and try to get to her feet quickly. But with Ven pressing down onto her it was a loosing attempt. He held the high ground and so had all the advantages. She did though try and flog Ven with her one good wing. If she hit or not was still unknown to Aquilon. But one thing was for sure she was not just going to stop and let Ven have his way with her.
So when Venka was finally done and told Aquilon that she best watch what she said about his mate. It finally made her snap and so she just started to sob uncontrollably. And then over and over again just spoke.
"No more, please no more...........No more please I have had enough. I just want to go home.
There was just nothing else that the pegasi could do. But to do like Ven said roll over and do what he said. Either that or get beaten on even more and with more force. She then just rolled back over and curled up. Still saying the same words timidly more to herself then to Venka. Now Aquilon was what ever the dun unicorn wanted her to be to him. She was beaten and just drained of putting up any more of a fight towards her captor. So she then just continued to sob loudly and shake uncontrollably. She just wanted this whole episode to vanish and having her wake up at her families cliff edge.

The mare whinnied loudly, struggling and failing to get to her hooves. Ven's hooves still ground into her flesh, anger coursing through his body. Her wing slapped across his face, knocking him back for a moment before his legs found purchase on her side once more. This mare would learn, one way or another, how things were done here. She would understand, one way or another, that she was a slave, and entirely at the mercy of his better nature. He had faith that it would not be long now. All of the others accepted it eventually. So she would as well. Venka was mostly a patient stallion, he could wait for this mare. It had been a while since the capture of the last wild. And luckily this one was at breeding age, she would keep the pegasi studs happy for a while. He smirked at the thought. It would be interesting to see how it all turned out.
Finally the mare broke, and Venka took a couple steps back, looking with disgust at the weeping creature at his hooves. He flicked her belly cautiously with a fore hoof. God what a mess. She broke clean in half! He rolled his eyes, looking at her as though she suddenly were a diseased slug squished beneath his hooves.
"No more, please no more...........No more please I have had enough. I just want to go home."
"Get up mare," he spat, "Get up, and I'll take you to your new home."

Amazing what being airborn for almost twenty hours, and then being beaten and attacked by this smaller unicorn with a superiority complex. Aquilon was just spent and wanted nothing more than to sleep or rest. but venka had other ideas. And when his final attack was over the blood bay mare finally capitulated. It was either that or she could very well be badly hurt or even maimed for life. And then she just didn't even flinch when Ven took his fore hoof and hit her belly. She just continued to cry and wishing this whole day was just a dream. First low clouds and then fog caused her to get lost. And now she was farther south, than any of the other pegasi in her herd ever was. She just still wanted to wake up and it all being a bad dream.
And then having to wake up on her families cliff top in the Helargar Mountains. But she just knew that this was real life and nothing would help her now except her own wits and mind. He than barked at her to get to her feet. And that he was going to be taking Aquilon to her new home. She just slowly got to her feet, but she still could not fold her right wing. It just hanged down and dragged on the ground. Aquilon just sighed heavily and then darkly spoke to Ven.
" I hope you are happy that my wing is hurt and I can not use it. And that I have no choice but to follow you for the moment."
She then just stood there with her right wing down and off to her side. Instead of it being folded up and across her back. Aquilon always prided herself on her raven black wings they was sort of unique to most other pegasus. Because almost all the rest had white or a real light grey wings. But she then just started to walk but at almost one step wait a second then one of her rear legs next. She was in no hurry to get into captivity any faster. And if Ven wanted her to move faster, then I guess he would have to damage his property Aquilon to make her move faster. But she was also counting on this, because if she was to marked up then maybe everyone would not want her. But there was also another plus she knew his name. But he had no idea what her's was. And maybe she could either give a false one out. Or Aquilon could hold hers out and away from Venka for as long as possible. She just had to wait and see what was next. She for the last 30 seconds only covered fifteen feet. Let him wait, was her motto now.

The mare seemed to have a death wish, that much was apparent to Ven as she inched along at a snails pace. She was baiting him, and he knew it, trying to shorten his fuse again. But why? What did she suspect that she had to gain by it? More out of curiosity than anything else, Ven let the slow pace continue, trying to glean some insight into the wild mare's mind.
He hovered a few paces behind her, stopping and shaking out the long tangles of his mane every so often, conveying his slight annoyance through this action alone. The mare's legs were sound, she could walk faster. Ven let his hooves drag through the sand, and felt his patience wearing thin. His curiosity was fading, why should he care why this mare wanted to be beaten? Really, it was none of his concern compared to how much of his time she was wasting. If it was more pain that she wanted, he would be more than willing to oblige. This mare would be a thorn in his side, he could feel it.
He watched as her right wing drug across the sand, leaving a shallow trail through the golden grains. " I hope you are happy that my wing is hurt and I can not use it. And that I have no choice but to follow you for the moment." The mare spat the words bitterly through her teeth.
Ven failed to hide the dark chuckle of mirth that escaped his lips. "More happy than you know." He told her softly,"But do you know what would make me even happier? A bit more spring to your step mare, I am a busy stallion and I don't have all day."
"I don't want to have to hurt you again," He continued with a drawl, "But if the need arises, I shall. I have been very patient with you mare, don't push your luck." He rapped her smartly on the rump with the flat of his horn and dodged quickly out of range before she could kick at him. He wouldn't put anything past this mare at the moment.

Aquilon wanted more than anything to be left totally alone. But yet every time she turned around there was Venka looking right back at her. Aquilon just wanted to go and beat Venka senseless. But he had a horn what did the blood bay mare have. Just four legs and hooves. And one good wing and a bum one next to it. So it looked like she was stuck here for the for seeable future. She just wanted to leave here and never return. But Venka then told her that he didn't care about her problems. And that he was more than happy on how he beat up Aquilon. And that he wanted her to get a move on. This brought a response out of the young pegasus.
"If you even think that I'll go running into captivity willingly, you got another thing coming. So now I am just going to keep walking."
Then the dun unicorn shot another vile threat to Aquilon. And it was he didn't want to hurt her. But if push came to shove then he would go and beat on her some more. Aquilon layed her harks flat and snapped at Ven.
" I am counting on it you worthless bastard! Because maybe if I am marked up to much. All your little friends well see and think that I am to much trouble, than I am worth. And so I'll never sell, and so I guess you'll just have to release me due to costing you to much. So you would be far better off by just releasing me prick!"
She was getting a little agitated over this never ending grid lock. Between Venka and herself over her captivity. But that is when she felt a sharp slap on her backside. She let out a surprised whinny. That is when she figured that if she did tick off Ven to much. Then she stood the chance of getting maimed or a sever injury. And then she would not be able to escape later on. So she then just started to walk normally. No need to get hurt if it could be avoided.

Venka let out a humorless laugh, dry and cold at the mare's words. She hoped that a few scratches would keep her from being sold? That was wishful thinking. He rammed into the mare from behind, slicing at her with the bladed shaft of his horn. One cut, two, three.
The stallion pulled away, turning to kick at her with powerful hind limbs He did not bother to see if this had struck home. "Had enough, mare?" he snarled, striking the ground with his fore hoof. He was getting sick and tired of her attitude. "This," He said, gesturing towards the endless expanse of golden sand, "This is your home! You are a slave, mare, you will go there, you will be branded, none of that is in your power to change. Keep fighting me, and you will never fly again, cooperate, and your feathers may be allowed to grow back. That much you do control, now make your choice mare, and move before I make you."
He paused, glaring angrily at the pegasi mare, "Stop again, and I'll injure your other wing to match."
The mare walked on swiftly after that, and they traveled in silence towards the bounds of his slave-place. Just over the next rise lay a small oasis, where twenty and one pegasi rested in the shade of the dune that Ven and Aquilon now stood atop. He ushered her down the slope and whistled to a unicorn standing guard over the slaves. "I'll need you to hold this one for me," he called.
Ven turned to the mare, "The less you struggle, the less painful this will be. If you move, the brand could set you on fire, loosing those flight feathers of yours for good. Cooperation, mare, that's all I require of you."

Aquilon just wanted this never ending ordeal of hers to end. It just kept going on and on and on. But she was not expecting the savage attack to her rump, hindquarters, and flanks from the smaller unicorn. So now it seemed like all her plans went up just like her flight feathers. And so it was now over for good. All she did when she felt the first cut was whinny loudly. And then sent three rapid kicks towards the direction she felt Ven's horn slicing into her body. But when she finally settled down that is when he countered with his own kicks. And one landed hard on her hind quarters. And so she was now limping slightly and so was slower in her movements. She was now completely defeated and so Aquilon held her head down to show it. She was built for flight not to run on the ground like the unicorns. And if she didn't watch herself she could end up being permanently maimed by this dun hell horse. So Aquilon walked as fast as she could comfortably go. And then when she finally crested the small hill she seen a good size pegasi herd. So she then heard Venka tell a guard to hold her down. Then in a light and meek voice spoke out.
" No! no there is no need to hold me down, I'll do what you want from here on out. I am just totally exhausted and want to rest. So do your worst, because I sure have taken everything you have dished out so far."
And with that the 16 hand high blood bay mare layed down and closed her eyes. She just wanted this over and done with. And so maybe finally get to sleep and a good long deserved rest. But knowing how Ven has been so far. Aquilon was not holding on to anything of the sort.
